2. Christian Zuzunaga

02 ú66 Zuzunaga Fire cushion from the Squaring of the Circle collection www.Zuzunaga.com (2)

Christian Zuzunaga started out in fashion design, before storming the world of interiors with bold, colourful prints. We love the vibrant, pixel-inspired pattern used on this cushion (£66), and the good news is, there’s a range of fashion accessories to match. zuzunaga.com

3. Missoni

03 Missoni

This Italian brand’s signature prints translate just as well onto cushions, footstools and sofas as they do on their catwalk collections. Rainbow-striped rugs, bold zig-zag fabrics and quirky use of colour create a bang-on-trend 1970s vibe that’s seriously covetable. missonihome.com

4. Julien Maconald

04A

Not content with merely conquering the world of fashion – he has worked as head of knitwear at Chanel as well as creative director of Givenchy, in addition to launching his own hugely successful eponymous label AND being awarded an OBE – Julien Macdonald has set his hand to a homeware takeover too. He’s got the ‘Star’ range at Debenhams, that’s consistently bringing out flashy home accessories (such as animal-print candle holders), and has launched a range of super-stylish wallpapers for Graham & Brown. Pictured is the Honolulu print in black and gold (£20 per roll). grahamandbrown.com

5. Calvin Klein

05 Calvin Klein Mayo Mercury Rug from Modern Rugs

Calvin Klein’s signature muted tones and understated styles are more than apparent in the brand’s collaboration with Modern Rugs. Pictured is the ‘Mayo Mercury’, which has a light-reflecting shimmer to create a feeling of space in even a small room (from £749). modern-rugs.co.uk

Best of the rest…

Of course, these aren’t the only high-end fashion houses lending their creative hands to a spot of interior design – everybody’s at it. From the perennially popular Armani – who take their interiors so seriously, they’ve launched several hotels decked out exclusively in their wares, to the never understated (but always fabulous) likes of Versace and Roberto Cavalli, there’s a designer range of fashionable home buys to suit all tastes. Alas, the same can’t be said for budgets, but finding, saving up for, and investing in one key piece could turn your kitchen into a catwalk. What’s not to love about that?
