A Northern Irish election candidate has said that she would seek to make homosexuality illegal again if elected.

Susan Anne White, who is standing as an independent candidate in West Tyrone, laid out her plan to deal with society’s “dangerous” homosexual agenda.

“I don’t consider myself extreme – not at all,” she told the Belfast Telegraph “It is society that has moved. Not so far in the past, most people would have shared my views. My views only seem extreme because society has moved away from God’s principles.”

The devout Christian is “absolutely opposed to the homosexual agenda” and stated: “If I had the power, I would certainly re-criminalise homosexuality, along with adultery. I would stop the funding of gay pride parades and other depraved art and cultural events.”

Despite this, White said that she is a “true friend” of the LGBT community because she will “tell them the truth”.

“The person who is not a friend, the person who is the enemy to the homosexual is the person who pats them on the back and says their lifestyle is perfectly normal and acceptable,” she said.

White, who is one of nine candidates standing in West Tyrone on May 7, also discussed her opposition to rock music, feminism and desire for the country to withdraw from Europe.
