It has been confirmed that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be joining The X Factor in the US, completing the panel alongside LA Reid and Simon Cowell.

Global pop icon Spears is reported to have signed a deal worth $15 million (£9.3 million) for one season of the show. Lovato on the other hand, shook hands on a contract worth $14 million less.

Cowell, in an official X Factor USA announcement presentation, said:

"I'm absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us. The new panel will be dynamic and will work really well with the changes we are making to the show."

Of course, it may come as no surprise that Britney was announced, as rumours have been flying around the Internet for weeks.

The addition of Britney and Demi comes after it was revealed in January that Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger would not be returning after just one season on the programme.
