THE BINGHAM CUP - GAY RUGBY

Manchester, the biggest gayest city up North, are hosting the Bingham Cup this weekend, which is basically a big gay rugby world cup.

The tournament will last three days and feature more than 30 clubs from 15 countries, including local lads Village Spartans RUFC.

Gareth Thomas, the first UK rugby player to come out, hosts the tournament’s Gala Dinner at The Palace Hotel on Sunday, 3 June. Gareth Thomas is on the new issue of Attitude. We're just sayin'.

This international sporting event will be taking place at Broughton Park RUFC and tickets only cost £6 a day, or £15 for the whole three day event.

To coincide with the Bingham Cup, Gaydar are launching a campaign ‘Let’s Kick Homophobia Into Touch’.  Backed by former rugby star and gorgeous hunk-of-man Ben Cohen, he said:

‘I’m passionate that anyone, regardless of their background, should be able to play rugby.  The sport is becoming more inclusive, but more can always be done within the rugby community to help break down barriers and bring more people into the sport.'

Here here, Ben. You can pledge your support for the campaign via Twitter, using the #kickintotouch hashtag. There will also be a charity auction at the end of the tournament, with all proceeds going towards Ben Cohen’s StandUp Foundation.
