One of the cast members of hit 00s sitcom Will & Grace has confirmed that the show will be returning for a brand new season.
Actor Leslie Jordan, who played Beverley Leslie – the diminutive frenemy of Karen Walker – on the show, revealed to radio station KPBS in December that NBC had green-lighted new episodes.
“It’s back, NBC has ordered it,” Jordan said.
“They have ordered 10. It will be for next season,” he continued, adding that filming will begin “in July.”
Jordan played Beverley on the show on-and-off throughout its original run between 2001 and 2006. More recently, he’s played a variety of spooky characters in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story series.
Although the 61 year old’s return to Will & Grace hasn’t been confirmed, the actor teased that he will “get a phone call” once the guest cast is added.
An informal yet vocal campaign to bring the landmark gay comedy back began in September last year after the show’s four leads – Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes – reunited for a special mini episode in support of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
While they sadly didn’t help lead Hillary to victory, the hilarious clip did seem to set the wheels in motion for a full-blown revival. So silver linings, and all that.
