The month-long fashion week continued last week with the twice annual 080 Barcelona fashion week.
This season. the shows were held in the grand Hospital de Sant Pau, an old working hospital which is now used as a museum and cultural centre - hosting all the shows and many of the events this season.
The schedule was packed with some of the biggest Spanish designers and showcased menswear, womenswear as well as kidswear.
Highlights from the season were Daniel Rosa, who showed a soft tailored collection for both men and women using lots denim as well co-ords in white and striped cotton. The main inspiration for the collection was drawn from the so-called neo-rural movement that espouses the values represented by the word rural, as opposed to the values embraced by cosmopolitanism.
Other highlights included Brain&Beast, who it seems has a cult following. Their show was the packed and was awarded the biggest cheer of the day. Walking the show was a mixture of men, women, drag queens and children all wearing his now iconic (to us anyway) slogan T-shirts.
The collection stayed true to the brand's aesthetic and was a mixture of cut and paste denim, slogan T-shirts, headpieces and facemasks. Brain&Beast proposes mixing garments which combine emotion and reason, with a very strong influence from contemporary culture without leaving out oodles of sophistication and a serious sense of humour.
Our two favourites of the season were BCN Brand, a contemporary lifestyle brand for both men and women.
The collection was full of colour and print and featured swimwear, ponchos, hooded vests, metallic bomber jackets and boys on skateboards - a highlight of the season and an injection of fun and colour for the second to last show on the schedule.
Finishing off the week of shows and events was Attitude favourite ES Collection, the swimwear and lifestyle brand is always a highlight and this season didn’t disappoint. Lots of prints, khaki and even some metallic looks could all be seen on the ripped male (and female) models who walked the runway.
Huge thank you to Eva and the team at 080 Bracelona and Fabric PR.
Until next season...
