Lord Waheed Alli was named Politician of the Year at the Attitude Awards on Monday night (October 13), and the Leader of the Opposition Ed Miliband was on hand to present the Labour peer with the accolade.
Described by Ed Miliband as a "pioneer in so many respects", Lord Alli used his acceptance speech to thank David Cameron and Tony Blair for their commitment to gay rights during their respective premierships.
