Alaska ‘very hurt’ by Drag Race All Stars 7 snub
The RuPaul’s Drag Race star reveals she was not asked to participate in the upcoming all-winners seventh season

Queens from near and far are returning to appear on Drag Race All Stars 7 – the first-ever all-winners season – but Alaska is the latest to reveal she did not recieve a call to be a part of the forthcoming show.
A Drag Race season 5 finalist and All Star season 2 winner, Alaska is one of the most revered queens so fans were puzzled as to why she was not sashaying into the all-winners season.
On Race Chaser with Alaska and Willam – a podcast in which Alaska and season four’s Willam co-host pull back the curtain on Drag Race gossip – Alaska shed light on the nature of her absence from the seventh season: “When I wasn’t asked to be on it, I was very, very emotional and I was very, very hurt and sad by that.”
Alaska went on to reveal that she is “very apprehensive” about watching the new season and has contemplated that it may be too hard to watch let alone talk about.
However, she graciously adds: “I just have to say that it’s really so incredible, and I’m so glad that this is happening, and I’m so glad that this is happening with these girls.”
Willam offered a possible explanation as to why Alaska was not called for the new season: “They want you competing against Sharon Needles, and Sharon Needles is not allowed on TV right now because people would scream and protest. So, once she is allowed on TV again, maybe in a few years, you’ll be back to compete with her.”
Alaska was in a relationship with fellow drag queen Sharon Needles for a number of years before their separation in 2013.
“They want that personal relationship between you two on display,” Willam continues. “They want to use your personal relationship. And they can’t do that right now, so that’s why you were not asked to be there.”
Alaska is not the only fan favourite who is noticeably absent from the seventh season; Trixie Mattel, Bianca Del Rio, and Bob the Drag Queen are absent, the latter admitting although they weren’t busy they “literally just did not get a call.”
The seventh season of All Stars will consist of 12 episodes in which eight queens – Jaida Essence Hall, Jinkx Monsoon, Monet X Change, Raja, Shea Couleé, Trinity ‘The Tuck’, The Vivienne and Yvie Oddly – battle it out for the exclusive title ‘Queen of all Queens’ and a $200,000 cash prize.
