Avengers: Endgame directors have teased a gay character will be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Despite there being dozens of openly LGBTQ characters in the Marvel comics - Valkyrie, Deadpool, Iceman - the Marvel movies have yet to introduce an openly gay character.

Last month, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed in the upcoming Eternals movie one of the superheroes will be openly gay and they are actively seeking a gay actor to portray the hero - but it has yet to be revealed which character it will be.

When Avengers: Endgame was released last month, it marked the first time a character talked about their sexuality, albeit it was nameless, minor character played by director Joe Russo - much to the anger of LGBTQ fans.

But now, during an interview with SiriusXM's Dalton Ross and Jessica Shaw, Joe teased a gay superhero will be introduced in the MCU soon.

He said: "There is a gay character coming up in one of the films. I think Kevin will make that announcement, I'm sure, pretty soon."

We know that the next film to be released in cinemas will be Spider-Man: Far From Home but we don't think our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man will somehow have the gay reveal.

But could it be Mysterio - played by Jake Gyllenhaal? We can only wait and see!
