Back to the Future The Musical, which made its debut at the Manchester Opera House earlier this year before coronavirus curtailed its run, will opwn at London's Adelphi Theatre from 14 May 2021.

The original Back to the Future film was released in 1985 and starred Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, who accidentally travels back to the 1950s after using the a time-traveling DeLorean car built Dr Emmett Brown (played by Christopher Lloyd).

The musical stage show has already been given the seal of approval from Lloyd, 81, who said in a statement: "I'm delighted that Back to the Future The Musical will be up and running in London in mid-May.

"I've heard nothing but great things about the show's run in Manchester, so I'm excited to finally see it for myself.

I've already heard some of the new songs and met many of the cast members, particularly Roger Bart who plays Doc, so I'm confident the stage version will be exactly what our fans have been hoping for.

"And, Great Scott - I can't wait to hear Doc Brown sing!"
