Beverley Knight has always been a long-term LGBT supporter and this just proves how much he supports the community.
Speaking to Attitude in our new July issue, Knight explained what happened when her former band members refused to play at Pride because it made them 'unhappy'.
"I once had a few members of my band who, when I asked to play Pride on Clapham Common about a hundred years ago, told me that they wouldn't be happy playing there," she explains.
"They decided they could hold me to ransom."
So what did Knight do?
"I sacked them all and got myself a new band."
The 43-year-old, who returns to her starring role in The Bodyguard
at London's Dominion Theatre next month, adds: "If you say, 'I stand for this', then stand for it in all weather."
And when asked about her gay following, Knight said: "The fact that they've chosen me is amazing. I wouldn't enjoy my life anywhere near as much if not for them."
