As the pair trade barbs, the former Culture Club frontman says: "One thing you haven't done Paloma is had a hit in America and I've had a few."
She replies: "Maybe I haven't achieved that now but I haven't had as long in the game as George… and eventually, hopefully one day I will."
Following the exchange, Faith leaves the stage in tears, and after eventually returing for the next audition, George reportedly tells her: "Don't give it if you can't take it."
The incident - which veteran coach will.i.am has described as "super intense" - was so apparently so heated that the BBC had to tone it down in the editing process in order to make it more family-friendly viewing, a source told ITV.
The BBC issued a statement after the live filming of the row last September, DigitalSpy notes, with a spokesperson insisting that there was no lasting animonsity between the the pair.
"All four coaches are fighting hard to get the best talent on their teams," they said at the time. "Competition and banter may be lively on camera but professional rivalries are left at the studio doors at the end of every recording.
Viewers will be able to see the bust-up unfold on this Saturday's episode of The Voice at 7.45pm on BBC One.
