Britney Spears has made it clear that she will continues speaking out about her experiences as the battle over her conservatorship and legal freedom continues.
Posting online this week, the ‘Stronger’ singer, 39, said “she’s not even close” to saying all she needs to say, and that after being kept quiet all this time, she’s able to speak honestly about the financial arrangement that’s governed her life.
Over the last few weeks, Britney has become a lot more publicly vocal about her thoughts on the arrangement and has called for her father, Jamie Spears, who’s in control of the conservatorship, to be investigated for 'abuse'.
“I was told to stay quiet about things for so long”
Posting on Instagram on Tuesday (20 July) Britney said: “So I said “life goes on” in one of my recent posts but it’s always easier said than done !!!!! In that moment that’s what felt was the easiest to say but I think we all know that I will never be able to let go and fully move on until I’ve said all I needed to say … and I’m not even close !!!!

Last week, Britney said she wanted to bring charges of “conservatorship abuse” against her father. Speaking to a court in Los Angeles by phone, the star said that at times she felt like those in control of her were “trying to kill her”, as reported by CNN.
She was also able to hire her own legal representation, replacing the lawyer who’s represented her in the conservatorship since it began in 2008.
In June, the star gave an explosive and emotional testimony, again by phone, in which she detailed some of the control her father had had over her, and that she had lied while struggling with depression.
Britney has also appeared to criticise her sister, Jamie Lynn, for performing her songs at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. Jamie Lynn previously said in an Instagram story post in June that she was “concerned about her [Britney’s] happiness."
In another post on Saturday (17 July) Britney said: “There’s nothing worse than when the people closest to you who never showed up for you post things in regard to your situation whatever it may be and speak righteously for support … there’s nothing worse than that !!!! How dare the people you love the most say anything at all … did they even put a hand out to even lift me up at the TIME !!!???
“How dare you make it public that NOW you CARE … did you put your hand out when I was drowning ???? Again … NO … so if you’re reading this and you know who you are … and you actually have the nerve to say anything about my situation just to save face for yourself publicly !!!
“If you’re gonna post something …. Please stop with the righteous approach when you’re so far from righteous it’s not even funny”
