Britney Spears shaves her head in first trailer for Lifetime movie special - WATCH

2017-01-24
The first trailer for Lifetime's upcoming Britney TV movie special has finally arrived. According to Lifetime, Britney Ever After will tell "the tumultuous story of pop icon Britney Spears’ rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection, firmly securing her position as one of the world’s greatest entertainers". The unauthorised TV movie stars 23-year-old Australian actress Natasha Bassett, who will portray Spears during the height of her '00s fame as the ...Baby One More Time singer juggled global fame and success with a devastating series of personal issues. As well as the singer's relationships with *NSYNC singer Justin Timberlake (played by Nathan Keyes) and ex-husband Kevin Federline (Clayton Chitty), the film is also set to portray the infamous 2007 incident which saw Spears publicly shave her head in front of paparazzi before being placed under her father's legal conservatorship. Perhaps understandably, Britney Ever After does not come with Brit's seal of approval, with a rep for the star previously confirming that the Toxic singer "will not be contributing in any way... nor does it have her blessing". So don't expect any of the singer's hits to be soundtracking this particular biopic. In an interview with New York Daily News earlier this month, Bassett described channelling Spears as "extremely traumatic", adding that her work on the film had given her "a lot more empathy for what she went through".

The 23-year-old added: "Her entire life, she’s been chased by paparazzi and she’s constantly being scrutinised and in the public eye, so it’s not normal.

"I really appreciated how strong she is."

Britney Ever After will premiere on Lifetime in the US on February 18, and in the UK on February 26.
