Charlie Sheen has confirmed that he is HIV positive in an interview with the Today
show's Matt Lauer.
"I would like to admit that I am in fact HIV positive," said the former Two and a Half Men
star, adding that he wanted to "put an end to the barrage of attacks" following days of tabloid speculation about his status.
"It’s a hard three letters to absorb," he said, adding that his diagnosis four years ago had been a "turning point" in his life.
"I always led with condoms and honesty when it came to my condition," the 50-year-old said, before going on to admit that he has paid "millions" to blackmailers who've threatened to reveal his status to the public over the last few years.
