The Charmed reboot has officially cast its first character.

News of a reboot of the supernatural series hasn't been well received amongst fans and original cast member Holly Marie Combs, but that hasn't stopped the CW Network from continuing with the project.

According to Deadline, producers have officially cast the first character in the show. Ser'Darius Blain, best known for starring in last year's Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, will play the role of Galvin, who will be one of the witch's love interess.

Last week, entertainment website TVLine obtained the cast breakdowns for the show and revealed the sisters' names as Macy and Madison and Mel Pruitt.

Galvin's character has been described as "The ideal boyfriend, funny, mellow, in touch with his emotions, totally on board to follow his lady across the country for her dream job. An aspiring filmmaker who has yet to catch the break he's sure is just around the corner."

Last week, entertainment website TVLine obtained the cast breakdowns for the show and revealed the sisters' names as Macy and Madison and Mel Pruitt.

The descriptions also revealed that character Mel will be lesbian.

Casting is set to continue as the CW Network search to find the three sisters as well as Mel's girlfriend, Madison's ex-boyfriend and the trio's "handsome" Whitelighter, Harry.

The reboot, written by Jane The Virgin writers Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin, has been described as a "fierce, funny, feminist reboot" set in the present day which tells the story of "three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches."
