Dawson’s Creek creator has ruled out a possible revival.

The popular 1990s TV series catapulted the careers of James Van Der Beek, Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams and marked the first time that a major network series featured an openly gay teenager in Jack McPhee – played by Kerr Smith.

And in the world of constant reboots and revivals of landmark series and iconic movies, it was a matter of time before someone thought about a Dawson’s Creek revival.

However, creator Kevin Williamson has responded to speculation about a new series and has ruled out any new story.

While at a panel for CBA All Access’ Tell Me a Story, Williamson said: “We keep talking about it, but no.

“As of now, there’s nothing in the pipeline. We kind of ended it. Jen died. What are we going to do?

“We talked about it, but until we can find a real reason to do it – but no. As of now, no.

“It’s funny you bring that up because I was just talking about it last night.”
