Debra Messing has expressed her disappointment over Will & Grace
not lasting longer than it did.
The hit US sitcom about a straight woman, Messing's Grace, and her gay male friend Will (Eric McCormack), originally ran on NBC for 184 episodes between 1998 and 2006.
The show’s finale fast-forwarded the beloved characters 20 years into the future as they dropped their teenage children off at college – the place Will and Grace themselves had once met.
In a new interview, Messing has explained that she wishes the show had managed to last ten seasons, rather than ending after season eight.
"I guess I would change the fact that we stopped after eight years," she told HuffPost Live
"It was such a happy time, and we were all really exhausted by that point and it was the right thing to do at that time, but now obviously time has passed, and I watch the show with my son who laughs at it and I think it would've been really great to do it a few more years," she added.
