'Drag Race' legend Alyssa Edwards is getting her own Netflix reality show

Alyssa Edwards is continuing to prove why she's the most successful fourth runner-up in Drag Race herstory with her very own Netflix reality show.

The legenday queen, real name Justin Johnson, will star in new eight-part docu-series Dancing Queen, which is set to document her life as a drag performer and dance school instructor in Texas.

Filmed in Justin’s hometown of Mesquite, Texas, Dancing Queen goes behind the makeup and into the world of his highly competitive Beyond Belief Dance Company as he prepares a young class for an intensely competitive season.

 

Netflix unveiled the show's first drama-filled trailer on Wednesday (August 22), and frankly it looks like that Paris is Burning/Dance Moms crossover we never knew we needed.

 

Edwards, who became a firm fan favourite on season 5 of Drag Race before cementing her status as show royalty with a standout turn on All Stars 2, serves as a producer on the series alonsgisde executive producer RuPaul.

All eight 45-minute episodes of season one are set to drop on Netflix in full on October 5 - so clear out your diaries for a Haus of Edwards binge of truly epic proportions.
