Miss Corona may have pulled the plug on physical Pride parades around the world, but Attitude is here to fill that hole, as it were.
As part of Attitude Pride at Home - a nine-day digital festival of diversity and love taking place across our channels from 20-28 June - we've joined forces with fashion designer Henry Holland for his star-studded annual Pride Drag Brunch. Eat that, COVID-19!
There is no shortage of entertainment on the menu, notably wig-snatching performances from RuPaul's Drag Race royalty Gigi Goode and Asia O’Hara, and the iconic Amanda Lepore.
Fans can then quench their thirst with a Slingsby gin cocktail-making masterclass from Drag Race UK favourite Baga Chipz, guaranteed to make you feel “much better!”
Drag stars Mahatma Khandi and Asttina Mandela are also on hand to present a high-stakes charity raffle – via Zaffo – with donations from the likes of Gucci, Rita Ora, Claridges, Erdem, Charli XCX, Christopher Kane and Roksanda.
Tickets will be £10 each and the full list of prizes can be found at zaffo.com.
Curtains close with a bop-laden set from the world’s most famous drag DJ, the one and only Jodie Harsh.
Proceeds raised during the fundraising event – including a minimum £4000 donation from The Attitude Magazine Foundation – will go to Brighton-based organisation Frontline Aids, working to end HIV and AIDs, specifically the charity’s Rapid Response Fund, which provides emergency support to LGBTQ people across Africa and the Caribbean.
“I’m so excited to be partnering with Attitude on this event and to be able to support the incredible work of Frontline Aids", says Holland.
"This year’s pride feels different for so many reasons but we must continue to raise awareness, show gratitude and do what we can to continue to support the work being done by so many organisations within the LGBTQ+ community."
Grimshaw adds: "“So happy to be part of the Drag Brunch again this year! This time we’re digital but they doesn’t mean we can’t have an amazing day raising loads of cash for the important work of Frontline AIDS."
