RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World star Jimbo became the latest victim of a shock lipstick pulling this week, so perhaps it’s no surprise that the Canadian performer has declared that she’s not a fan of the queen-on-queen elimination format.

The latest instalment of the franchise – currently airing on BBC Three in the UK – has followed All Stars rules, which see two top queens select a bottom queen to go home, before lipsyncing for the win and the power to eliminate their chosen competitor.

The removal of RuPaul’s power to eliminate has thrown up some controversial results over the years, with some notable frontrunners given the boot earlier than expected (Manila Luzon, we’re still in mourning).

Now, Jimbo, who was eliminated from Drag Race UK vs The World by Thai queen Pangina this week despite previously appearing in the top two each week of the competition, has said they believe the format is a “cop out” for the judges.

“I guess I prefer the lipsync for your life, save yourself, RuPaul making the decisions [format],” she tells Attitude and Tia Kofi as she reflects on her time in the workroom on Tea Time, in association with Taimi, the LGBTQ dating and social network app.

“It’s a little bit of a cop out putting it on the other performers in the midst of everything else, being like ‘OK girls, like, you decide’.”

Jimbo, who appeared on season one of Canada’s Drag Race before joining Drag Race UK vs The World, adds the lipstick format is “lazy” on the part of the judges.

“It’s like, I think we’re doing a lot of work already bringing all of these looks, doing all the performances, doing all the danving, the shaking, learning stuff, singing stuff, and then it’s like, okay, the judges are just going to sit around and sip tea and watch TV and stuff,” she says.

“So, I don’t know about that. Bit lazy to me.”

The self-prolcimaed ‘drag clown’ quips: “It’s like, can you guys do something else beside just crack jokes and sit on your asses? Jesus.”

Despite Jimbo’s issues with the format, a return to Drag Race remains on the cards.

When asked whether she’d return to the franchise, the drag star replies: “Of course I would. I love being on TV. I love just having a geat time. I love competing against all those b*tches. I love coming for the girls.

“I love everything about being on Drag Race.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World continues next Tuesday at 9pm on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
