She’s been seen turning some serious Spice Girls looks of late.

And Drag Race UK star Ella Vaday has won the blessing of both Victoria Beckham and Melanie C for her recent outfits – which, of course, is music to the former 90s-child’s ears.

“Mel C posted me in something, so she’s seen me in Drag Race,” Ella told Attitude at last night’s launch of the 2021 Raindance Film Festival in London’s Dorchester Hotel.

“So I know I have Mel’s approval! Just like Victoria Beckham posted a picture of me as Victoria on the Spice Girls bus! [See a grab from VB’s Instagram Story below]”

Ella dressed as Sporty for the ‘Night of 1,000 Spice Girls’ episode of Drag Race, and Posh for Spotify’s recent Spice Girls-themed campaign, featuring an array of Drag Race stars.

“[Victoria] didn’t tag me…” added Ella. “But it was amazing. I’ve been posted by two Spice Girls within one month!”

“You’re seeing on the show that I’m a genuine person”

Speaking about her Drag Race journey so far, Ella told us: “I’m enjoying the ride. You’re seeing on the show that I’m a genuine person, that there’s nothing under that.

“Some would say ‘you’re not drama’. Well, that’s not me! I’m 33 years old, I’ve worked all my life to get what I want. I don’t need to be drama; I work to get what I want.”

Ella also spoke about her boyfriend (“we’ve been together for almost 10 years!”), ru-vealing if she’s ever dragged him up…

“I have!” she laughed. “And he looked better than me, so it’s not happening again! We called him Bella Vanight. ‘Bella’ because he’s Italian, and ‘Vanight’ because he’s an ‘elluva night!”

Opening Raindance was the comedy Best Sellers, which stars Aubrey Plaza and Sir Michael Caine.

“Michael Caine’s a legend,” opined Ella of the film. “It brought his character into the modern-day. I thought it was really fun, but also touching.”
