Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical Evita
is returning to London’s West End this September.
The revival will debut at London's Dominion Theatre on September 16, for a limited run of 55 performances, ending on November 1.
Former Wet Wet Wet singer Marti Pellow will play Che in the upcoming revival, while newcomer Madalena Alberto will take on the title role.
tells the story of the wife of former Argentine dictator Juan Peron, Eva Peron, from her humble beginnings, to her evolution into a world-renowned politician, feminist and "spiritual leader."
With over 20 awards to its name, and an Oscar-winning film adaptation starring Madonna released in 1997, Evita
is considered one of Lloyd Webber's finest works.
The musical is the second Lloyd Webber production to receive a West End revival this year, following the announcement earlier today (June 26) that Cats
will be returning to the London stage later this year - click here for further detailsor
