In the midst of a strange and unsettling year, Monsoon is quickly becoming one of most eagerly-anticipated pieces of queer cinema.
Starring Crazy Rich Asians and Last Christmas heartthrob Henry Golding, the poignant new drama film follows the story of Kit, a Vietnam-born Brit who returns to the country of his birth to embark on a journey of self-discovery - and we've got a world exclusive first look at the film's new poster below.
Written and directed by Hong Khaou (director of 2014's acclaimed gay drama Lilting, starring Ben Whishaw), Monsoon is billed as a "a rich and poignant exploration of the struggle for identity in a place where the past weighs heavily on the present.
A synopsis reads: Kit (Henry Golding) returns to Ho Chi Minh City for the first time since he was six years old when his family fled the country in the aftermath of the Vietnam-American war.
"Struggling to make sense of himself in a city he’s no longer familiar with, he embarks on a personal journey across the country that opens up the possibility for friendship, love and happiness."
While coronavirus continues to throw film release schedules into chaos, we've been told you can expect to see Monsoon hitting cinemas in autumn 2020, so we should be parted from Henry Golding and his winning smile for too long.
