Giorgio Armani is the latest Italian fashion icon to suffer a serious case of foot in mouth, announcing in a new interview over the weekend
that he believes gay men should not dress in a 'homosexual' fashion.
“A homosexual man is a man 100%. He does not need to dress homosexual,” the designer told The Sunday Times Magazine
. “When homosexuality is exhibited to the extreme – to say, ‘Ah, you know I’m homosexual,’ – that has nothing to do with me. A man has to be a man,” he added.
With that in mind, we thought we'd have a look at some of the designer's manliest designs of recent years:
This uber-masc 'mustard trousers with darling little matching furry cuff' ensemble:
These totes butch Aladdin harem pants, paired with a shiny cabaret waiscoat:
This deeply heterosexual candy-cotton pink jacket:
See-through nipple cut-outs? Oh yeah mate, the wife bloody loves it:
Remember now, no 'exhibiting homosexuality to the extreme'! Now hand me my leather shirt. No, I won't button it up.
Thank you, Giorgio Armani, for your lifelong commitment to #masc #straightacting-only fashion.
