Lea Michele has paid tribute to former boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith after filming the final ever episode of Glee.
The 28-year-old tweeted that the ground-breaking musical-comedy series had wrapped for good on Sunday (Febraury 22), before sharing a touching picture of her carrying the football shirt worn by her late boyfriend Cory Monteith's character, Finn Hudson.
Monteith - who played McKinley High's football quarter-back and Glee club co-captain in the show's first four seasons - was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room in July 2013 following a drug overdose.
The actor and his character were later honoured in season 5 episode 'The Quarterback'.
Kevin McHale - who plays Artie Abrams - teased last week (February 19) that finale to the Fox show's sixth and final season would honour Monteith once again.
"I think [Finn] is always remembered and especially at a time like this at the very end, there will definitely be some sort of mention of him," he told Access Hollywood
"He'll be involved in some way."
McHale added that he was "happy" with the conclusion to the series, saying: "I'm satisfied. I was reading it and the last two episodes are airing back-to-back, so it's kinda this double whammy all at the end.
"I think [viewers will] be happy. I was happy. They tie up a lot of great storylines and you get to see these people in a new light and follow their journey.
"These characters have gone through a lot, and I think there's a good payoff at the end."
Continuing its strong tradition of LGBT representation, the sixth and final season of Glee
has already seen a much-loved character come out as transgender
, and one of the show's most prominent same-sex couples tie the knot
airs its last episode on March 20 in the US.
