Graham Norton: 'Eurovision will be quite straight this year'

Graham Norton has suggested that Eurovision will be more "straight" this year. The comedian, who has hosted the legendary contest since 2009, has claimed that that this year's show won't be as camp as it has been in previous years, like when drag queen Conchita Wurst took home the coveted prize in 2014. Graham "It'll be interesting this year – I think it’s going to be quite a straight contest," he told Radio Times. “Austria are taking it quite seriously, they're delighted to have it. And there are lots and lots of ballads this year. There aren't that many upbeat songs.” He went on to praise Conchita, saying that her win was "moving and lovely". “Conchita was really special, that night was just great. We'll see if that can be replicated this year, I doubt it can be because it was just – I don't know, it’s stupid, it’s a singing competition, who actually cares? “On the night it was sort of moving and lovely," he added.
