HBO announces 'The Normal Heart' premiere date

The drama - starring Mark Ruffalo and Matt Bomer - takes place in New York City in the early 1980s at the onset of the HIV-AIDS epidemic. The Normal Heart will premiere in the US on Sunday, May 25 at 9pm. It is not known if the film will air in the UK. Ruffalo plays Ned Weeks, who witnesses the spread disease that has begun to claim the lives of many in the gay community and sets out to discover the truth. Taylor Kitsch, Jim Parsons and Julia Roberts also star in the film, which is an adaptation Larry Kramer's 1985 play of the same name.
