We featured a preview of the H&M x Balmain collection in our last issue, taking a look at the latest collaboration between high street giants H&M and French super luxury fashion house Balmain. Last week Olivier gathered his celebrity friends in the form of Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss in NYC to launch the collection, where the Backstreet Boys performed, and yesterday we previewed the full collection at a very glitzy party in Paris, where models sashay'd down the runway in the latest designs from the collection.
We also got to meet the creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, where we were suitably charmed by the Parisian. He spoke about everything from fashion to appearing on the cover of a magazine (naked, we might add), to his love of London.
In fact, his love of the British capital has extended so much so that tonight there is going to be a huge launch of the Balmain X H&M on Regent's Street (50 of our lucky readers, won the chance to attend the exclusive preview shopping night before it goes on sale tomorrow.) We'd advise you be quick, as judging from the Paris Pop up shop yesterday was swarming with eager shoppers trying to get a hold of the good stuff.
The H&M collaboration has plenty of Balmain’s rich detail, including cropped black velvet jacket with black metallic rope, complete with plenty of Balmain’s DNA such as hand embroidered patches complete with lions, eagles and anchors. Both tailoring and sportswear are in the forefront of this collection, with cropped jackets wool blazers with patches and velvet blazers mixed in with slouchy leather jogging bottoms and hoodies with quilted leather shoulders - and plenty of other essentials such as ribbed jersey tops.
The collection is launching in stores November 5, and you can check out some of the best bits below.
