Judge Robert Rinder to host the Attitude Pride Awards 2018

On the eve of Pride in London, July 6, at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park

As Pride season gets underway worldwide, Attitude magazine is delighted to confirm the return of the Attitude PRIDE Awards.

The Attitude PRIDE Awards 2018, supported by United Airlines, will take place on the afternoon of Friday July 6 (on the eve of Pride in London) and will be hosted by criminal law barrister and TV personality Robert Rinder.

Variously known as Judge Rinder, star of the eponymous reality courtroom series, Robert has graciously given his time to help accolade those who deserve it most.

The venue – for a second successive year – will be the magnificent, newly-restored Ballroom at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel.

Launched in 2015 to acknowledge those working selflessly in the third sector, or those who have overcome life-changing events, the Attitude PRIDE Awards will again this year highlight ten remarkable people with real stories that cry out to be told. Attitude is proud to be the conduit through which this range of extraordinary individuals can be heard.

Darren Styles, Publisher and Managing Director of Attitude magazine said: “After a twelve-month hiatus we reintroduced the Attitude PRIDE Awards last summer – and it was a humbling and uplifting experience for everybody involved.

“From our late contributor Martyn Hett and journalist Dean Eastmond, who we lost subsequently, and from transgender activist Natalie Scott to asylum seeker Aderonke Apata, we shone a brilliant light into some dark places and found joy, heart and optimism.

“Aligning our brand with the values of Pride goes to the centre of who we are, and this very special lunchtime event on the eve of Pride in London gives us the opportunity to honour unsung heroes and those whose life stories – for better and worse – provide hope and inspiration to us all.

“I am grateful that United Airlines are the first of a number of partners to sign up for 2018 to help us to make this happen. The honours are truly ours.”

Bob Schumacher, UK and Ireland Sales Managing Director for United Airlines, said: “The Attitude PRIDE awards are a fantastic opportunity to highlight some of the contributions that have been made to the LGBT+ community over the last year.

“United Airlines is delighted to support these awards and we look forward to celebrating those who are making a real difference in the community.”

Michael Salter-Church MBE, Co-Chair of Pride in London said: “I am delighted to see the return of the Attitude PRIDE Awards. I think they’re such a positive thing to do – and the fact they recognise LGBT+ people from right across the country and those representative of our entire community is terrific.”

A special edition of Attitude magazine, including exclusive interviews with the ten winners of the Attitude PRIDE Awards will be published on Thursday July 19.

A limited number of tables of ten for the Attitude PRIDE Awards remain available for sale at £2,500. These include a welcome reception, a three-course lunch including wine, the awards presentations and post-lunch cocktails. For details please contact craig.lewis@streampublishing.net
