Lady Gaga and Glenn Close are taking part in a brand-new documentary series produced by Oprah and Prince Harry, exploring mental health and emotional well-being.
The Me You Can’t See will debut on Apple TV+ on 21 May and will also feature mental health advocate Zak Williams, Olympic boxer Virginia 'Ginny' Fuchs, celebrity chef Rashad Armstead, and more.
Oprah and the Duke of Sussex will discuss their own mental health journeys and struggles while leading discussions with guests and a wide range of people from across the world living with the challenges of mental health issues.
"Replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom"
The series, announced to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week (10 May–16 May 2021), aims to destigmatise a highly misunderstood subject, according to filmmakers.
“Now more than ever, there is an immediate need to replace the shame surrounding mental health with wisdom, compassion, and honesty,” said Oprah Winfrey.
“Our series aims to spark that global conversation.”

Prince Harry said: “We are born into different lives, brought up in different environments, and as a result are exposed to different experiences. But our shared experience is that we are all human”.
He added: “The majority of us carry some form of unresolved trauma, loss, or grief, which feels - and is - very personal.”
“Yet the last year has shown us that we are all in this together, and my hope is that this series will show there is power in vulnerability, connection in empathy, and strength in honesty.”
The producers have also partnered with 14 accredited experts and organisations from around the world to help shed light on different pathways to treatment.
It's directed and executive produced by Emmy Award-nominee Dawn Porter (Gideon’s Army, John Lewis: Good Trouble), and Academy Award and four-time BAFTA-winning Asif Kapadia (Amy).
The series is produced by Jen Isaacson and Nell Constantinople.
