Lily Allen: 'Bridget Jones' musical may never be seen'

2014-04-26
lilyallenLily Allen has cast doubts on the future of the West End version of Bridget Jones' Diary. The singer has written songs for the stage adaptation of Helen Fielding's much-loved novel, which was originally set to debut in 2011. However, the show has been marred by a series of delays, and Allen has now suggested the public may never get to hear her work. Speaking to Popjustice this week, Allen said of the musical: "It's finished and it's brilliant. But I don't know if it will ever see the light of day." Pressed for further details, Allen replied: "I cannot divulge. [My favourite song is] called Yummy and it's Bridget singing to a fridge." Lily Allen’s new album Sheezus is released on May 5 - and will feature the singles Hard Out Here, Air Balloon and Our Time, as well as a track called Sheezus, whose music video was released earlier this week (April 23).
