Last week we reported that Gordon Semple, a London police officer, had been missing since April 1. A week later, Semple's death was announced on a Facebook group organised by his brother, Ronnie.
In a Facebook post
, Ronnie released a statement that said, "I would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts during the past dreadful week. It has been a terrible time for us all, especially Gary."
Semple was allegedly strangled and dismembered by 59-year-old Stefano Brizzi who he had met on Grindr. Semple's remains were found in the communal bins of the Peabody Estate on Southwark Street, south London.
Gay Star News reports
that Brizzi appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday (April 13) and will be reprimanded in custody until a hearing later this month.
Semples brother has said that, "Gordon was a much loved Partner, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Uncle & Cousin and our world will be a worse place without him."
