Hair loss is an issue which affects millions of men, but no matter how many others are going through it, thinning or receding hair can still be a massive knock to your self-confidence.
While the follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedures - more commonly referred to as hair transplants - favoured by the likes of Wayne Rooney are becoming increasingly commmon, they're not always suited, or even accessible, to all men.
For the many man who are dealing with thinning or balding hair, but do not yet need a hair transplant, there's now an answer thanks to a leading edge treatment from The Harley Street Hair Clinic.
The ATP (Advanced Trico Pigmentation) procedure an advanced pigmentation delivery system that works to replicate the appearance of naturally growing hair follicles for men with little to no hair.
The results can transform those with little to no hair in a matter of hours, leaving with the appearance of a fully shaven scalp and a natural looking hairline.
The treatment can also add density to those with thinning hair and can boost results for those who are opting for an FUE hair transplant.
After sporting a full head of hair in his teens, Hywel first began noticing the signs of hair loss in his early 20s. Now 30, his thinning hair had begun to make him feel self-concious and unhappy with his appearance.
"I've hated talking about it for ages because I didn't like the fact I was losing my hair," Hywel explains after undergoing the ATP procedure at The Harley Street Hair Clinic.
"Over the course of time it's got thinner and thinner, to the point where it's made me not like it."
He goes on: "I didn't really know much about ATP at all, because I just assumed that if I was going to come in for a hair transplant it would just be something to do with moving your hair into you hairline.
"When I came here they told me that ATP would be a different process to make your hair appear denser. It definitely looks thicker because of the shadow effect.
"It's made me feel more confident for sure."
After first hearing about ATP procedures from a friend, Hywel says he'd also recommend the treatment to others dealing with hair loss and looking for a non-surgucal answer.
"For a lot of men who come somewhere like this for the first time, they might feel a bit awkward about it or feel a bit scared to talk about," Hywel says "but I definitely think [The Harley Street Hair Clinic] has got that relaxing, at-ease vibe about it."
