Her name has long been a notable absence from the pavements of Hollywood Boulevard, but Mariah Carey is finally getting her own star on the Walk of Fame.
The five-time Grammy winner will be the recipient of the 2,556th star on the world-renowned landmark in Los Angeles.
"Finally, all questions regarding when Mariah Carey will be honoured with a star are answered," said the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremonies, Ana Martinez, in a statement
released yesterday (July 27).
"Fans have repeatedly asked us when their favourite singer would be honoured, and now is the time."
She added: "We are thrilled that we can add one of the world's biggest talents to our Walk of Fame."
Carey is the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200-million albums sold to date and 18 Billboard Hot 100 Number One singles - more than any solo artist in history.
Sharing what we can only imagine is an artist's impression of the star she probably had knocked up a decade ago, the 45 year-old reacted to the news on Instagram, thanking her fans for helping her finally get her hands on the accolade.
