Mel C is back with brand new single 'Anymore' - WATCH

She's been reasserting herself as a talent in her own right over the past few years, and now Mel C is back in full force with her new single, 'Anyone'. Released yesterday (September 6), the moody mid-tempo track is a clear departure from anything even remotely Spice Girls-related. But fans of Mel C's early solo work will appreciate her continued use of electronic sounds (I Turn To You, anyone?), while managing to keep the sound up to date with contemporary pop tracks. The artist formerly known as Sporty Spice cuts a sophisticated figure in the video, and is accompanied by beautiful, cool tattooed twenty-somethings, doing cool, post-night out things, as is de rigeur for 2016 mid-tempo breakup bangers. While Geri, Emma Bunton and Mel B are busy getting ready to reunite as GEM, Mel C is adamant that her Spice Girls days are behind her. Last month, Mel C penned an essay in which she insisted she was  "singer and songwriter," and "not a celebrity." This new track definitely feels like she's as serious about reinvesting herself in the pop scene as her essay suggested. We'll have to wait until she releases her album, Version Of Me, in October to find out if it's paid off.
