We are living for Melanie C’s reads of her former Spice Girl bandmates on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Vs The World last night (Tuesday 1 February) We’re sure she was only teasing!

Sporty Spice was the first special guest judge on the new series, which sees previous Drag Race contestants from across the world compete against one another for the title of Queen of the World.

And it’s safe to say that Melanie C did not disappoint and as well as clearly enjoying herself, delivered some friendly digs at bandmates Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner.

“That’s a way of keeping Geri in time!”

The first episode saw the queens compete in a talent show before the judges. Following the runway (category is: I’m a winner baby!) the judges offered their critiques of Lemon, Janey Jacké, Baga Chipz, Jimbo, Pangina Heals, and Blu Hydrangea, who all represented the tops and bottoms of the week.

Mo Heart, Cheryl Hole, and Jujubee were safe.

When it came to the critiques for Baga’s lip-sync to her own song, Melanie C pointed on the inspirations Baga seemed to have taken from the Spice Girls including saying, “you lip-sync badly,” and that there was a resemblance in the performance to Posh Spice.

But Melanie C added, “Your vocals are… MUCH BETTA!” using Baga’s signature catchphrase.

Mel was full of praise for Canada’s Drag Race‘s Jimbo and her act which saw her clad in white PVC and essentially give birth to some cold meat.

Moving on to Belfast’s Blu Hydrangea and her musical number attached to two mannequins, Blu said she had done the act before with the mannequins dressed as two of the Spice Girls, one of which was Geri.

Sporty Spice joked: “That’s a way of keeping Geri in time! We should do that next time we go on tour!”

We weren’t the only one enjoying Mel’s jokes. One person tweeted: “Mel C’s critique of Baga Chips on UK Vs the World cements her as one of the best judges ever in the herstory of Drag Race. I literally laughed out loud, and not in a cute way lol”

Another person commented that the winner of the episode was clearly Mel C.

We agree!
