The Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones and Chic ft. Nile Rodgers concert at Hyde Park this summer just got even bigger (read: gayer), with a swag of new names added to the bill.
MIKA, Years & Years, Foxes, Bright Light Bright Light, and Ekkah will all now perform at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on Sunday June 21.
Also just announced: Mylo will spin a DJ set at the Summer Stage, while Pride in London will host a pre-party on the Carnival Stage to get everybody warmed up as the main event kicks off.
"No musician ever really expects to get to be on a bill with their heroes, but to be on a bill with THREE of them in one go definitely feels very once in a lifetime," said Bright Light Bright Light, pictured below.
"Between Kylie, Grace Jones and Nile Rodgers, there's a catalogue that has soundtracked most of my formative and adult years, so even being mentioned in the same paragraph as these iconic figures feels so incredible. Being part of this event is such a huge honour for me - one that my childhood self would never think possible. And my adult self is equally blown away by!"
With all of the acts either being gay themselves (MIKA, Bright Light Bright Light, Years & Years) or extremely gay-friendly (Kylie, Grace Jones, Chic - need we say more?), this is set to be one of the most colourful parties of the summer. Check out our recent interviews with Chic's Nile Rodgers and Years & Years' Olly Alexander for more goss from the artists themselves.
