The Teen Wolf star will be starring alongside TV heartthrob Avan Jogia

Tyler Posey has landed a role in a new coming-of-age series where he will play one half of a gay teen romance.

The former Teen Wolf star is set to star alongside TV heartthrob Avan Jogia is the upcoming 10-part series Now Apocalypse for Starz, according to Deadline.

The show will follow Ulysses (Jogia) and his friends Carly (Kelli Berglund), Ford (Beau Mirchoff) and Severine (Roxane Mesquida) as they try to deal with love, sex and fame while living in Los Angeles.

Posey will play Gabriel who meets Ulysses on a dating app but their lives are interrupted when Ulysses believes his nightmares are hinting at a dark conspiracy.

Now Apocalypse will be produced by Gregg Araki and Steven Soderbergh but no release date has been announced yet.

Posey – who became a hit in the LGBT community for his role in Teen Wolf  and starred as a bisexual character on Jane the Virgin – caused controversy when he made a fake “coming out” video.

However, he has since apologised for his behaviour and even admitted he has a Grindr account as he loves the gay dating scene.

But if there are going to be as many shirtless scenes in Now Apocalypse as there were in Teen Wolf, we will be satisfied.

Jogia – who starred in the LGBT+ movie I Am Michael - co-founded the online PSA organization Straight But Not Narrow (SBNN) in 2011, with Heather Wilk and Andre Pochon, in conjunction with the support of fellow actor, Josh Hutcherson.

The non-profit organization is aimed towards changing the attitudes and viewpoints of heterosexuals about the LGBT+ community.
