2015-09-30
Sam Smith has given fans their first taste of the video for his new Bond theme tune Writing's on the Wall, and given the number of Union Jack-draped coffins on show, it looks set to be every bit as haunting as the song itself. The 23-year-old, who's looking every bit the dishy 00 agent himself, has teamed up with music video director and long-time collaborator Luke Monaghan for the visual, which promises to be interspersed with clips of the eagerly-anticipated 24th Bond installment Spectre. sam smitgh “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it,” Sam previously said of the new track, which was released last Friday and is currently on course to become the first Bond theme ever to hit Number One in the UK. Meanwhile, Spectre will see Daniel Craig reprise his role as the iconic secret agent for a fourth time, while Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris will reprise their roles as Q, M, and Miss Moneypenny respectively. Monica Belluci and Lea Seydoux have joined the cast as two new Bond girls, and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott has also been confirmed as part of the line-up. Oscar-winner director Sam Mendes, who helmed 2012’s Skyfall, has also returned to the director’s chair, for what he says will be his last Bond outing. Spectre will be released worldwide on November 6. More stories: French rugby players get naked in NSFW video Watch: Katy Perry's awkward onstage encounter with drunk touchy-feely fan
