Will someone please tape a pair of oven mitt's to Zayn Malik's hands before he tries to pick up a smartphone again?
Having already fallen out with former collaborator Naughty Boy
after calling him a "fat joke," the former One Directioner has taken aim at another producer, this time calling Calvin Harris - aka the world's most highly-paid DJ - a "d*ckhead".
It all started on Twitter last night (August 17) after Zayn retweeted a tweet which seemingly criticised Harris's girlfriend Taylor Swift for her stance towards free music streaming services such as Spotify. Here's the image he retweeted:
Clearly taking the retweet as a jibe as his missus, Calvin defended her position on streaming music for free, arguing that she was trying to defend the "99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive".
The ever-cool-headed Zayn was quick to respond though, telling the 31-year-old How Deep is Your Love
producer that he'd made an "absolute fool of himself", and to "calm your knickers before them dentures fall out".
While Harris insisted that he was only taking issue with the quote and Malik himself, the former boyband star was undeterred, tweeting: "Oh and I write my own shit too dickhead".
The encounter ended with the Scotsman replying to the jibe: "Best of luck mate, genuinely. You've got a great voice."
And it didn't end there: Soon after, Twitter users noticed that Zayn's former bandmate Louis Tomlinson - who he's already got into a spat with since leaving the band - had favourited Calvin's original tweet. C'mon guys, this is gonna make the inevitable reunion really awkward surely?
We might be going out on a limb here, but it's probably best to get that first solo record made before
you burn your bridges with every successful producer known to man, right Mr Malik?
