Britney Spears becomes third artist to receive Billboard’s Millennium Award
Britney Spear’s legacy is will become the third performer to be honoured with the Billboard Millennium Award.
The prestigious award is not given every year, and has only gone to two other artists: Beyoncé in 2011 and Whitney Houston in 2012.
The Princess of Pop is also on the line-up to perform a medley of her greatest hits, as well as her new single ‘Make Me (Oooh)’ from her upcoming ninth studio album.
Since the release of debut single ‘…Baby One More Time’ in 1998 Britney, and has sold over 100 million records worldwide and gone on to win seven Billboard Music Awards, including New Artist of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.
The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air on Sunday, May 22 at 8pm ET.
