The first trailer has been released for And Just Like That – the Sex and the City prequel series starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw.

Cynthia Nixon is also seen in the clip as Miranda Hobbes, along with Kristin Davis as Charlotte Yorke Goldenblatt.

Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones in the original HBO hit, is not returning for the new show.

The first two episodes of And Just Like That are set to drop on HBO Max on 9 December, the broadcaster confirmed today. The next eight episodes will then be released one at a time every Thursday.

“A new chapter begins”

In the 50-second video, SJP as Carrie is heard saying: “They say some things never change. But the truth is, life is full of surprises. And as your story unfolds, the city reinvents itself. And just like that, a new chapter begins.”

The official YouTube synopsis reads: “A new chapter of the groundbreaking HBO series, ‘Sex and the City,’ from executive producer Michael Patrick King. The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

Also featured in the trailer is the late actor Willie Garson as gay character Stanford. Garson died on 21 September 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
