Bing, bang, bong! Bimini’s ‘UK Hun?’ verse has been nominated for the Must-See Moment category at the 2022 Virgin Media BAFTA TV Awards.

The United Kingdolls – Bimini Bon Boulash, Tayce, Lawrence Chaney, and A’Whora – performed the iconic bop on the second series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK last year.

The track lit up the UK singles chart after its release, topping the UK iTunes chart and peaking at Number 27 on the official UK singles chart.

Bimini’s verse in particular provided fans with ear-worming, empowering lyrics such as “Gender-bender, cis-tem offender / I like it rough but my lentils tender / Don’t be scared to embrace the femme / Whether you’re he, she, or them.”

The song’s success prompted calls for it to be submitted at the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest entry. Sadly, that didn’t happen, but we’ll just be happy that we got it in the first place!

Speaking to Attitude in March last year, the band teased there could be more music on the way, as well as a tour.

“After realising what talented songwriters we are, it’d be rude not to!” said Bimini.

Reflecting on the song’s success Lawrence quipped: “Topping the charts? It’s the first time I’ve topped anything in my life!”.
