Chris Mears and Jack Laugher get the gold! The very best of the Team GB boys

Diving duo Chris Mears and Jack Laugher made history last night (August 10) when they became the first British divers to win Olympic Gold medals in Rio.
The pair won with a total of 454.32 points, beating nearest rivals, the US, by 4.11 points. China came in third place.

British fans were ecstatic for the pair, who have come a long way since placing fourth at the London Games in 2012.

While we’re obviously focused on this historic win, we couldn’t help but be reminded of Chris Mears’ excellent 2016 calendar shoot as we watched him take to the diving board in a pair of budgie smugglers. Don’t hold it against us.

As well as diving partners, the pair are best mates. Which is probably why they’re so in sync. With the synchronized diving finals done and dusted, the pair are now free to continue soaking up the Brazillian sun and filling our Instagram feeds with semi-nudity. God bless the Olympics.
