Sir Elton John has revealed that his long-time friend Ed Sheeran bought him a “giant marble penis” for his most recent birthday. Seems like a bit of a d*ck move… but it doesn’t sound like Elton minded one bit!

The ‘Rocketman’ legend was speaking to the Australian radio station Hit 109.9’s Carrie and Tommy Show about his friendship with Sheeran when he announced what the stars gift each other.

In the interview, Sir Elton describes the ‘A-team’ singer-songwriter, who he used to manage, as a “very generous, lovely man” and the two being great friends who like to pay tricks on each other. Clearly!

“It’s beautifully made”

Sir Elton’s appearance on the show follows that of Ed Sheeran’s a few weeks earlier, where Sheeran credited the ‘Honky Cat’ singer as changing his fashion connecting him with Donatella Versace for the ‘Bad Habits’ video.

John recounts: “About a year and a half ago, I hooked him up with Donatella Versace and got him some stuff. I said if you’re making the ‘Bad Habits’ video, you’ve got to look great.

“I rang Donatella, she made him the clothes. He needs to come out with a new tour, I think he’s getting a band, and he’s changing his stuff. He loves it, it’s not as if he’s forcing him into anything he doesn’t want to do.”

He then moves on to talk about the kind of things the two send each other.

“For my birthday, this year, he gave me a giant marble penis,” which of course leads to hysterics in the studio. Sir Elton goes on to ponder, “if it’s because I’ve always been a p****  or not. It’s really big. It’s beautifully made but it’s solid marble.”

The suggestion of putting the statue in the garden was poo-pooed by Sir Elton’s partner, David Furnish, who had to remind the 74-year-old legend that they have children. It’s now stored, “where they [the children] wouldn’t see it.”

As Sir Elton then says: “What do you buy the man who has everything? A huge marble penis.”
