Set in 1950s Brighton, England, the book follows a schoolteacher named Marion who falls for Tom, a policeman – who is himself involved with another man named Patrick.

Michael Grandage will direct; no word yet on who will play Patrick. Lily James was previously in talks to play Marion.

“Bring back manly men”

Harry, who made his movie debut in 2017’s Dunkirk, has another film in the pipeline: drama Don’t Worry Darling, to be directed by Booksmart‘s Olivia Wilde.

Late last year, Wilde defended Harry when conservative critic Candace Owens, while trashing the One Direction star for wearing a dress on the cover of US Vogue, said: “Bring back manly men.”

Reacting on Twitter, Olivia said: “You’re pathetic.”
