The upcoming Prime Video gay rom-com Red, White, and Royal Blue completed filming over the weekend.
Taylor Zakhar Perez who is playing the role of Alex, the son of the fictional US President, confirmed the news alongside his co-star, Nicholas Galitzine, who plays love interest Prince Henry, on Instagram.
“That’s a wrap on Red, White, and Royal Blue. I wish I could share more than this video, but I promise it’s worth the wait,” Perez wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you to EVERYONE who worked to bring this world to life, OH WHAT A SUMMER!” he added.
The film, based on Casey McQuiston’s bestselling 2019 novel, is set in a near-future world where the first female US President (played by Uma Thurman) is gearing up for reelection when the ‘first son’ Alex (Perez) is instructed to befriend British Prince Henry (Galitzine) following a diplomatic debacle.
The news that filming has wrapped was also shared by actor Aneesh Sheth, who posted a polaroid on Instagram of her hugging Perez and Galitzine: “And that’s a wrap on Red, White & Royal Blue!!!! How do I even begin to describe the last three months. Being a part of this film has changed my life- in so many ways I did not think possible.”

“I will miss everyone on this team; we had the best time making this movie. This group, this film, this city – all of it has my heart,” she added. “Thank you to each and every one of YOU, followers, for loving us so hard, supporting us, and rooting for us.”
She continued: “We can’t wait to share this with you. And to my boys, Taylor and Nick- you are my angels and I love you with every cell in my heart and soul. Happy Trails! xx”
Attitude September/October cover star Polo Morín – who confirmed exclusively to Attitude that he is playing an amalgamation of two characters (Liam and Rafael), a journalist who used to date Alex – shared that Alex’s character arc resonates with him as he too was outed.
“[Alex is] the son of the president of the US and still gets discriminated [against] all the time, which is literally my story, both being queer and Mexican,” he said.
“Actually, I did want to audition for Alex, but he was supposed to have black hair and darker skin, so yeah, it wasn’t my profile, I guess,” Morín added.
He also noted that the cinematic adaption of Red, White and Royal Blue would not be as raunchy as some elements of the novel, saying: “it remains sexy, but it’s not as sexual, I don’t think.”
The Attitude September/October issue is out now.
