Relive ‘Swan Lake’ star Sam Salter’s Attitude cover shoot

Get all this and more and in the Attitude Yearbook 2019, out now.

By Will Stroude

Well, 2020 really turned out to be quite the year, didn’t it? Just as well then that we’ve collated all 27 cover stories from 2019 across 328 pages in our first-ever Attitude Yearbook, to help while away these long days in lockdown.

To gibe you a little taste of just what that means, we thought we’d transport you back to this time last year, when we whisked ballet dancer Sam Salter – he of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake fame – off to Belmond Reid’s Palace in Madeira for a sun-soaked shoot in paradise.

The accompanying interview (which you can read in full in the Attitude Yearbook now) saw the 26-year-old dancer reveal how his struggle to overcome issues with his sexuality and self-confidence led him down a dark path of drug and alcohol abuse – and how he found the inner strength to stop the spiral.

Sam, who has also appeared in the West End production of Wicked and in Russell T Davies’ LGBTQ drama Cucumber, has been using his own time in lockdown to deliver note-perfect recreations of iconic TV and film moments, but we’ll be honest, nothing beats the good old days…

Check out some of the highlights from Sam’s Attitude shoot below, and get every single 2019 cover profile in full when you download the Attitude Yearbook
