Stars of Sex and the City and its reboot And Just Like That..., Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, have addressed the allegations of sexual assault concerning their co-star Chris Noth.

Following the premiere of AJLT..., two women came forward alleging Noth - who played Mr. Big in both shows - assaulted them in 2004 and 2015.

Parker, Nixon, and Davis have now issued a statement on social media saying they are "deeply saddened" to hear of the allegations.

"We support the women"

Continuing, the three women say, "We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it," before signing off.

The allegations against Noth first appeared in The Hollywood Reporter, who said that it had been approached by the women separately and months apart from one another. The report says the women came forward after seeing Noth advertised as being in And Just Like That...

Both women chose to use false names in THR's article. Zoe, who is now 40, says she was 22 when the actor allegedly raped her in West Hollywood in 2004. 31-year-old Lilu says she was raped in Noth's New York apartment in 2015 when she was 25.

In a statement, as reported by the BBC, Noth has said: "The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago - no always means no - that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual."

Los Angeles Police has said it is not investigating the allegations because no official report has been made to police. Following the reports, Noth was dropped from his show The Equalizer as well as being dropped from a promotional campaign for Peloton.
